At Mountain Transit Authority (MTA), we are proud to provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services to ensure that individuals can get to and from their healthcare appointments safely and reliably.
Our professional drivers are trained to assist passengers with care, dignity, and respect.
MTA cannot transport patients who require advanced life support or basic life support. Patients suffering from serious injury, bleeding, mental impairment or other life-threatening symptoms need to contact their local ambulance service.
Non-emergency medical transportation is for medical visits only. MTA cannot transport patients to or from stores while on NEMT service. If you need a ride to the pharmacy before or after your appointment, make sure you let your insurance provider know when getting your trip number.
Step 1: Contact Your Insurance Provider- If you have Medicare or Medicaid (1-844-889-1940), start by calling your insurance provider. Let them know that you would like Mountain Transit Authority (MTA) to be your primary transportation provider.
- Medicare call 1-844-572-8194: you must call the broker at least 48 Hours in advance of your appointment date.
- Medicaid call 1-844-889-1940: you must call the broker at least 5-7 business days in advance of your appointment date
Step 2: Obtain a Trip Number - Your insurance or broker will provide you with a trip number for your appointment.
Step 3: Call our Office - Contact Our Medical Transportation Department (304-872-5872) once you have your trip number. MTA will do our best to accommodate your trip; however, this is not something we can guarantee.
Step 4: Trip Verification - A member of our team will call you the day before your trip to confirm your pickup time and details.

If your appointment is rescheduled or you need to cancel your ride, please call our office AND your broker as soon as possible. This helps us adjust our schedule and continue serving others efficiently.
